{"id":488,"date":"2015-06-03T10:00:30","date_gmt":"2015-06-03T10:00:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rocksolidbizdevelopment.com\/ourblog\/?p=488"},"modified":"2025-07-01T17:20:24","modified_gmt":"2025-07-01T17:20:24","slug":"at-the-end-of-the-day-you-bet-on-people-not-strategies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rocksolidbizdevelopment.com\/ourblog\/at-the-end-of-the-day-you-bet-on-people-not-strategies\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cAt the end of the day, you bet on people, not strategies.\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Filene Research Institute is a think tank aimed at helping credit unions find ways to operate smarter, more efficiently, and more effectively.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">An acquaintance of mine who manages a credit union shared one of Filene\u2019s reports with me.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The title of the report is \u201cAttributes and Skills of Highly Effective Credit Union Managers,\u201d but most of the findings, it seems to me, would apply equally to <\/span><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">all<\/span><\/span><\/em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> managers, not just to credit union managers.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">So I edited the report to remove the few things that did apply only to credit unions, and to make it applicable to managers in general, not just to credit union managers.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The result may give you some ideas about how well your managers (and you!) are managing.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">To see that result, please continue reading below.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cAt the end of the day, you bet on people, not strategies.\u201d<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211;
